catching up

This weekend is all about friends and finding some happiness and catching up on life.

So today I met with a former co-worker and their partner and we had nabe for lunch (so full, so good) and just talked about how life's been for us and our other co-workers and whatever else. It was nice to do that.

Some of you might know the co-worker from my little saga titled "Help, I think I'm living in a BL drama". If you'd like to know more about that, just ask me. I have it written down somewhere lol

I also got to talk to my mum and dad for a bit - couldn't get a hold of them after the big earthquake last week (we messaged, though) because my mum was sick. She's better now, though, so that's good to know and it's another worry off my chest. SIGH. We're all waiting for borders to open properly again so I can go home for a visit. I want to go home so bad it's not even funny anymore.

The homesickness wasn't made any better by Japan throwing 31 degrees Celsius at us today. It's October! I keep overheating at work because we have to wear our suits now and it's HOT. Luckily we are allowed to take the jackets off during kids classes (and since I teach 99% kids classes right now, that effectively means I can take my jacket off for most of the day) but still... it's so hot. Why. Give me my autumn!

*whines*

Okay, gotta end the entry here because I still have some stuff to do before tomorrow. I'm going to meet a few people from my Thai BL fan group, so I want to make some desserts to take along. \o/

Some of you might be wondering why my blog title is what it is and to be honest, I don't remember who exactly gave me that nickname but it was before I got my teaching certificate at some point... quo vadis - where will the road lead you

People always say that life is easier when you have a goal to work towards. I don't think this is wrong but at the same time, I also don't think it is completely true. In a way. Like, I honestly can't say that I have a real goal in life right now. I have little stepping stones, milestones but the road that lies ahead leads into the unknown (okay sorry if you got the song stuck in your head now). None of the 'typical' goals really appeal or apply to me: getting married (muh), starting a family (meh), buying a house (mmh), having a lot of money (pfft), get a job you like (yaah)... On some days, it's hard to keep going, knowing that you're just...walking further and further into a sheer endless expanse of NOTHING and on other days, it feels like you're free. Weird, isn't it?

Okay, I give in, here's a blog - Kira Life Update

Okay, so Blogtober 2.0, if you will? Or if I'm allowed to do that lol I noticed that blogging about fandom related stuff only is hard and maybe not all that interesting for people, so I decided to make a more personal blog after all. And after interacting with Pippa on her blog, I found that THAT was what I do miss from LJ and so yeah, here goes. This first entry is an update on what's been happening in my life - in a nutshell. For the future, prepare for a bunch of random stuff, rants and what not. I will most likely be talking about: life and work fandom stuff stuff that is on my mind living in Japan food More specific fandom stuff will still be on the other blog but fandoms not covered by that (yeah yeah I have too many fandoms, I know) will be on this one.
